Tobias H., language course and internship in Costa Rica: "All the arrangements ran really smoothly. Shortly after my enquiry, information was sent to me and I was always looked after really well. As I decided to do an internship at short notice, I was relying on a quick and professional service - and that it is exactly what I got. The support at my location was flawless. I was very satisfied with my internship and was also given my own projects. The language school was also very helpful and the week-long Spanish course was extremely useful."
San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, is on a plateau in the Central Valley at 1500 m (4,900 ft) elevation. It is ringed by lush green mountains and valleys. The population of this city is probably half of the whole country. It contains the primary airport, the University of Costa Rica, the US' and other embassies and many museums, cultural venues, hotels, markets, etc. It is the hub of the country.
Visitors to the country appreciate, above all, the friendliness of the Costa Ricans toward all people. Costa Ricans take their time to chat and to joke, and their openness and warmth easily rub off on newcomers. People of European, African, Asian, and Indian descent enrich the culture with their customs, languages and eating habits. Costa Rica in general, and San José in particular, is a great place to improve your Spanish.
In San José, you have a great choice of places to go out in the evenings. Equally liked by tourists and locals is the 'Centro Commercial el Pueblo', or simply 'El Pueblo', where there are many bars, discos, restaurants and souvenir shops
Its exports were formerly largely agricultural. It has extensive sugar Cane "plantations" and cattle but it is industrializing rapidly. It has the benefits of universal public schooling, health care, a pension system and other aspects of what is essentially a somewhat paternalistic social democratic government. In recent years, electronics, pharmaceuticals, financial outsourcing, software development and ecotourism, have become the prime industries in Costa Rica's economy.
Eco tourism is seen as a central focus of development. The country is stunning and unspoiled and the will is there to keep it that way. Costa Rica is known as a tropical nature paradise without equal. There is no other place on earth that has such a rich biodiversity, flora and fauna. The Costa Ricans recognize this richness and try to protect it for future generations. More than 27 percent of the country is nature reserve, where there are 800 species of birds, more than 200 species of mammals, about 400 species of reptiles, and over 9000 different flowers, among them 1200 orchids. There are 1400 varieties of trees.
As you can see there are many opportunities for internships-4U to arrange an internship for you in San Jose.
