About Ecuador

Ecuador is a republic in northwestern South America sharing borders with Columbia in the north, Peru in the south and the Pacific Ocean in the west. The Galapagos Islands, which belong to Ecuador, are located 965 kilometres offshore. The smallest country in the Andes (272 045 square kilometers) is named after its location on the Equator. The capital of the country is Quito.
