Melanie F., Internship in a statistics institute (biostatistics) in Dublin (Ireland)
"I have never met an unfriendly Irish person – whether my
host family, boss, colleagues, or staff in the pub – all of them are
happy with the world and open to new and different things.
You just have to get used to the rain, but without it there would not
be the beautiful green landscapes – and they are really well worth seeing!"
Edward R., Internship in a law firm in Dublin (Ireland)
"My internship and stay in Dublin has had a really positive
effect on me both personally and professionally. The internship itself
was challenging and was a lot of fun.
My accommodation in the host family also fulfilled every wish. In addition,
Dublin offers lots of attractions which provide you with varied and interesting
leisure activities.
The many new friendships that I made during my stay in Dublin, and the
great experiences that I will take away with me from my internship make
it easy for me to recommend such a stay abroad."
Anika H., Language course and internship in the media industry in Dublin (Ireland)
“My internship in Ireland was great! I met lots of nice people
and was amazed by how hospitable the Irish are.
Even though I was only in Dublin for 8 weeks, I managed to improve my
English and get to know the Irish culture and the country.
My host family was really kind to me and looked after me really well,
even though the food took some getting used (e.g. lots of potatoes)!
I would recommend such a stay abroad to anyone!"
Angela A., Language course and internship in marketing in Dublin (Ireland)
"Dublin is a beautiful city.
It is definitely worth completing an internship there to better get to
know the city, its people, sights, nightlife and the Irish charm."
Kim R., Language course and internship in a newspaper publishing house in Dublin (Ireland)
"My impression of Ireland itself is very positive. I have
met lots of nice people and I really enjoyed my internship.
However, you have to be prepared to leave “German punctuality” behind
because the Irish work differently – from the bus driver to the editor-in-chief!
I would definitely go back to Dublin straightaway, if the opportunity
presented itself. The city and the surrounding area are really impressive
and the agency employees on location were always there if there was a
problem.
All in all, it was a great experience!"
Marie-Therese G., Language course and internship in a hotel in Dublin (Ireland)
"Overall I really liked the organisation. During my stay in
Dublin I had a fairly major problem that the organisation really couldn’t
do anything about, but they helped me brilliantly and very quickly!
Thank you again for everything!! I will definitely recommend you to others!"
Anne-Lina T., Internship in an events agency in Dublin (Ireland)
"The internship in Ireland was simply of great benefit to
me for my studies and for my general attitude towards life.
I have found lots of great new friends and have even received an offer
for a permanent job after completing my degree. Thank you PractiGo! I
never imagined that everything would be SO fantastic!"
Christina K., Language course and internship in a hotel in Dublin (Ireland)
"My internship in Dublin was a really good experience. I have
learnt a great deal about the country and the people and got to know
lots of interesting and nice people.
The work was really enjoyable and I would definitely do an internship
in Ireland again."
Madlen J., Language course and internship in marketing/events management in Cork (Ireland)
"I completed a 4 week language course and a 6 week internship
in Cork, Ireland, and I definitely got a lot out of it personally speaking.
Even during the language course I got to know lots of people from many
different countries and we travelled a lot and managed to explore the
whole island.
My accommodation (shared flat) was very good, I did a lot with my flatmates
and I never felt lonely. The internship following the language course
was super – I was at the Experience Midleton in Cork, and helped out
everywhere I was needed, including showing tourists around the whiskey
distillery.
My internship was really well selected for me, as I had specified the
areas of marketing, events management and tourism. I was really warmly
welcomed there and never felt out of place. I was quickly allowed to
work independently, but my work colleagues were always there for me if
I didn’t understand something.
However, I must admit that a 6 week internship is too short because as
soon as you have settled in the time passes far too quickly, and I wished
that I had been able to stay for longer. I have made loads of friends
in Ireland and will definitely come back next year!:)"
Samantha T., Internship in architecture in Cork (Ireland)
"The internship was practically perfect, what else can I say!? In the
office everyone was really friendly and helpful, as were my flatmates,
with whom it was never boring.
Cork and the surroundings offer loads of interesting sights and attractions,
and the weather during the three months was also not too Irish!"
Michaela H., Internship in market research in Dublin (Ireland)
"I was really lucky with my internship placement and my host family.
My family and work colleagues really warmly welcomed me and helped me to
settle in quickly to my new environment.
I was integrated into the everyday life at my internship and was
also given challenging and interesting work. I got to learn lots, both professionally
and linguistically."
Luise B., Internship in a hotel in Dublin (Ireland)
"I completed my internship in Dublin. It was superb, I liked my colleagues and the company, and also the organisation on location looked after me really well – it was no problem to switch host families when I didn’t get on with the first one. The organisation there also arranged “social evenings” so that you could always get to know new people. All in all I am very satisfied with my stay and can definitely recommend PractiGo."
