"These three months in South Africa were the best and above all the most interesting time of my life. The farm owners Johan and Diana welcomed me as a son and I immediately felt settled. I am still in contact with them and plan to visit them again as soon as possible.
Overall my internship was very varied and not simply limited to one area. Rather, it offered me a wide range of different tasks that I had to contend with.
I had one week of language lessons in Cape Town, but I lived for several weeks in the language school’s shared apartments and met all my friends in Cape Town at the school. As it was relatively small there was a personal atmosphere where everybody knew everyone else and quickly made connections. Additionally, the teaching staff and the school management were exclusively made up of nice people, who were always ready and willing to help.
A one week language course is of course much too short to really learn something new, but for making social contacts the time at the school was invaluable! I would like to sincerely thank you for your support on location. I believe that such a stay abroad is an important experience that is well worth taking part in. Therefore, I think that your concept – helping people to plan and organise these trips – is really good.
